I live in the midwest and it is a very, very cold climate here from November thru April so alot of people when they have been outside for a short period of time have a runny nose. Even people who walk from their cars in the cold air to go to work seem to get a runny nose when they get inside.
Anyway, it seems like alot of men with just sniffle and sniffle some more. Some of them 20-30 sniffles per minute but they dont bother with a tissue.
Women on the other hand (at least around here) they tend to get a tissue or napkin out at the first sign of a runny nose. I notice not to be gross around here lately it seems to be in vogue for women to pick their nose with a tissue and then say the heck with it and then blow their nose a bit.
Early this week in fact their was a chain reaction of women nose blowers I heard which was ironic. None of them honked, they were mainly quiet nose blows.

I now tend to carry something for wiping noses...because I have a four year old and after several years of young children I've learned that carrying some kind of wiping up cloth is wise! So that's probably related to being female! However left to myself I'm useless at that sort of thing and left to myself I rarely remembered to carry anything...

True, when having kids women learn to be prepared to all situations...
And women carry handbags, which makes things much easier.
Even if I forget to take a hankie from the drawer when I leave in the morning there is still one in my purse.

Speaking for the men, I never go anywhere without at least two handkerchiefs, and I'm not the least bit shy about putting them to use! I'm also in the Midwest, and Colorado is right, the blustery winds really get noses running. She's also right about how men (especially younger men) just sniffle away. What a shame! I secretly hope that some of them see me use my hankie and think, "Wow, what a great idea!"

I got to readin this and its actually true. I'm not much of a blower or whatever cause its very rare that I get sick enough to blow. On the other hand, my boyfriend is very prone to Sinus infections especially when the weather changes. He actually just got over 1 that he was sick with all weekend. I had to make him blow several times cause he'd just sniffle when I knew he had to blow. Heck, there were times I just wanted to take the tissue hold it 2 his nose and say blow whether he liked it or not lol.
