gryffin, you are always so good at finding multilingual videos!
Thank you!
I might add a lins of sneeze-related words in various languages, in case anybody needs it. I had posted a similar one some months ago, but by now it must be lost in the depths of this therad - and I can't actually remember if there was any Turkish in it, but anyway here it is.
ITALIAN
starnuto starnuti starnutisce starnutire
SPANISH
estornudo estornudos estornuda estornudar estornudando a(t)chís
PORTUGUESE
espirro espirros espirra espirrar espirrando atchim
FRENCH
éternu(e)ment éternu(e)ments éternue éternuer atchoum
GERMAN
nies(s)en nies(s)er niest hatschi
HUNGARIAN
tüsszent tüsszentés hapci
ROUMANIAN
stranut stranuta stranutat hapciu
DUTCH
niezen
DANISH (?)
nysning
POLISH (?)
kichanie
TURKISH
hapşırık hapşırma hapşırmak hapşırdı hapşırıyor hapşırırsa hapşuruk hapşurma hapşurmak hapşurdu hapşuruyor hapşu
(yes, it appears that Turkish has more words meaning "sneeze" than all the other languages together)
You can copy-paste the words with weird glyphs directly from here, but many appear on YouTube just in the simplified form - "i" instead of "ı", "e" instead of "é", and so on. I have put here also some forms that might actually be misspellings but nevertheless link to sneeze content (the same in English - many videos tagged "sneaze" or "snezze"). The last and "anomalous" word of some of the series is the rendering of the sound of the sneeze, so basically you can add letters here and there, "hatschiii" etc.
Final note: I don't actually speak any of these languages except French and Italian, so this list is just made out of YouTube experience and therefore is probably packed with omissions (which is something of an oxymoron, but never mind). If any of you knows more words, or can correct mistakes, please do it and I (we)'ll surely be grateful for that!
