When I click on this link, I am taken to a page that looks like it is about to play the indicated video, but then it immediately starts playing advertisements. I cannot seem to get it to play the desired video. Any ideas? It does not help that I cannot read Japanese. If I can get these things to play, I will try to save them.
Update: OK, I was using Firefox 2.0.0.6 when I encountered the problem above. I was able to play it using Opera 9.23. I managed to grab a portion of it from the Opera cache, specifically, the first 6.0 MB of what eventually would have been a much bigger FLV file. This "fragment", although truncated, appears to play OK, at least in VLC media player and MPlayer. The sneeze occurs 16 seconds into the file and all of its aftermath is done by 30 seconds. Since the file is 161 seconds long, 30 seconds represents less than 20% of the file. Therefore, I should be able to shave the file down to about 1.2 MB. One way or another, I should be able to post it on savefile. Please be patient, however, since it may take me a while to get it done.

i can't see this video in youtube and can't download also.....is anyone facing the same problem while seeing this video???????
Mirf informs me that the entire clip is only 9.2 MB, so snatching it from my browser cache mid-download saved only a third in size. Rather than wait any longer messing around with trying to reduce it from 6.0 MB to 1.2 MB or so (i.e., by writing code, etc.), I uploaded it as-is to http://www.savefile.com/files/1110638.
I'll probably play around with trying to shorten it, eventually. Apparently, just lopping off the end of an FLV file does not render it unplayable. The trick will be to delete portions before the section of interest (and after the file header) without destroying the file. If that can be done, then I will have the capability to remove the non-sneeze-related content from my library of clips from youtube, et al.

I've never played around with the actual code of a flv file before So i can't really say a lot to that. However it would be quite easily done by just converting it into another format you can edit with a normal video-editing program. There are hundreds of different tools and even online services out there that do that. Depending on how big your collection is this might be some work but i kinda doubt it will be more work than actually fiddling with the flv itself. And i'm sure it will be more reliable
. Of course you can convert it back into flv after that if you want to as well .I know i shouldn't "threadjack" with technical stuff .. but i couldn't resist .. and hey i tried to keep myself short

I couldn't get the clips to play either when I tried opening them using Opera 9.23. I could only open them using Internet Explorer. Do you know of any other video capturing software that could work? I tried copying the URL of the video and downloading it using Flashget, but that didn't work. I'm running out of ideas.

However, posting youtube links to material that has been identified in the person's profile to be under the age of 18 will have more serious repercussions than before. As of now, the following penalties will be applied regardless of the person, his/her status on this board, how long they've been here, or anything else.
1st offense: Warning level shoots up to 30%. If warning level is already at 30% or higher, then it is taken to the next warning level after that. Mandatory three day suspension.
2nd offense: Warning level shoots up to 60%. If warning level is already at 60% or higher, then it is taken to the next warning level after that. Mandatory week-long suspension.
3rd offense: Warning level shoots up to 90%. If warning level is already at 90% then you're in some seriously deep shit. Mandatory two-week suspension.]
After that, well, we tried giving you all these chances so if need be, we'll probably have to remove you from the community entirely. If this many people can't bother to read stickies and follow them, then we need to up the disciplinary measures. Really? It wasn't up for long, but I could swear I checked the profile, and it said 18. Then again, I suppose the sneezer could be any age.

I did not check the profile, but she looked younger than 18 to me. As you suggest, generally all a profile tells us is what the person wants us to believe about him or her. Generally if they look younger than 18 then its better to not post it to be on the safe side.
